On 5 March the Guardian published a special supplement on Brazil whose leading article says stable government and a responsible fiscal policy have helped the country ‘spread its wings and reach for the sky’. It is not a joke. Brazil is part of the XXI Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Historically they have never won any medals in the competition. So far, a total lack of medals is a fact for the Brazilian team.
Brazil first took part in the Winter Olympics in 1992.
